In this thread, i'm going to discuss about what are the importance when we are learning foreign languages.
There are various importance when we are learning foreign languages. Whether it is for ourself or for people in our surrounding.
1. Helps to improve our knowledge.
Its clearly here, learning anything in life will increase our knowledge and experiences by getting to know new things. Of course, we will do lots of research and reading in order to gain our best understanding on the language itself. This will improve our knowledge.
2. Train ourselves to be more disciplined.
Learning something in life especially foreign languages need focus so that we will be able to learn it well. Of course, when we talk about how this can train ourselves to be more disciplined is that by how much effort and focus that we put to make this learning continuously happening without even being interrupted and abandoned in the middle of nor where.
3. Helps community around us.
When we have the knowledge of foreign languages, we can barely teach the community around. The knowledge will developed and spread among the neighbourhood. This is a nobel thing and by teaching other people, we can get the benefit of further understanding on learning those foreign languages by doing lots of homework and research. And of course, there will be lots of questions came from people asking this and that. This is the right time and the golden opportunity for us to dig for the answer and at the same time, we also learn the language itself in a way better than before.
4. Improve our confidence level.
No doubt, when we are talking about learning foreign languages, we will be meeting lots of new and foreign people whether through face-to-face conversation or through online conversation. This will boost our confidence level in sort of our communication skills.
5. More conscious about the first language.
When we are learning foreign languages, we will be more focus on translating those words directly to our first language as we mastered it better. Therefore, our understanding about grammar and how the sentences are grammatically arranged in both different languages help us to understand better in our first language acquisition.
6. Social interaction becomes wider.
Talking about learning new things especially foreign languages will make us more often getting into an interaction in which we're meeting foreign people. Our social interaction will gets wider as we have more friends from different backgrounds and countries. This will make us more open-minded and embrace differences in different lifestyles from certain places around the globe.
7. Improve our memorising skills.
When learning foreign languages or any new things, of course there will be so many things to be remembered, right? Therefore, by learning foreign languages, our memory skills will improved as we tend to memorise lots of words and their meaning regardless of how to write its character. For instance, when we are learning Korean or Japanese we will learning how to say the word and also write the character of each word. Hence, we got no choice, for a beginner we will have to remember and memorise the pattern of each character.
8. Being more multi-tasks people.
Learning something new of course will make us to do lots of things at the same time. Therefore, our focus will not be only for one thing. We will be focusing on so many things at the same time. So, this will improve our skill on being a multi-tasking people.
